If ever there was a more contentious and controversial animated series ever produced for television, “The Ren and Stimpy Show” was it. The disgusting duo, demented Chihuahua Ren and fat cat Stimpy, pushed the envelope on what was considered acceptable viewing in the early 90's with their gross humour and constantly upped the insanity ante. The titanic struggles between the show’s creator, John Kricfalusi and the children’s cartoon network Nickelodeon during the show's first two years of existence are well documented. Now, Paramount is finally releasing the first two seasons
of “The Ren & Stimpy Show” on DVD, uncut
and with some interesting bonus material that should
satisfy fans. These cartoons capture the pair at their
peak, including a "banned" episode, "Man's
Best Friend." Region 1 encoding (requires a North American or multi-region DVD player and NTSC compatible TV. Read Ren and Stimpy Season 3 and a halfish |
